Twitter – The New Digital Investigation And Judiciary System??

The Manipulated Media tag is the new feature in Twitter. If you belong to a political faction that defies the left forces, you would eventually be subject to this manipulated media tag. The facetious part is the good-for-nothing platform which is prone to fear-mongering and fake news aggregation is attempting to form an investigation, then a judiciary system of its own to conduct social media trials in India.

Well, Sambit Patra and other BJP members are not the only victims of this digital judiciary system set by this platform. Former American President Donald Trump was a victim too. Not once, but twice.

Along with him, several other conservative writers, right wing activist as well as American neo-Nazi activist were among those whose accounts got suspended either temporarily or permanently.

This explains one thing i.e. Twitter is becoming a digital age judiciary system without any investigations. Therefore, if you hate a right-wing activist or someone who just follows conservatism you can call Twitter and ask to block them.

If this digital dominance of social media platforms continues, the world is gradually accepting Opinion Suppression, or we could even say Intellectual Terrorism.

Jack Dorsey’s has a Liberal Inclination?

Jack Dorsey is an entrepreneur who has successfully built Twitter from the scratches. He along with his Co-Founders Noah Glass, Biz Stone, Evan Williams is well appreciated for the effort of building. But the platform must be unbiased. Unfortunately, the founder’s allegiance to liberal ideology reflects upon the platform well.

Funding Democrats in 2020 Presidential Elections

So, we tried to capture some details on him in the public domain and reached out to his Wikipedia page, which outrightly mentions that in 2019 he funded the campaign of Democrats Presidential candidates – Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang.

Holding a Placard Against Brahmins

Yes, next to Jews, Brahmins are the most abused community. While the haters claim a patriarchic society set by the Brahmin community. And Jack Dorsey does stand with them. Well, these are not facts which we presume, but these are acts which he committed.

In November 2018, he was seen holding Placard that claimed, “Smash Brahminical Patriarchy” when he visited India. In a discussion with a group of women journalists, a Dalit women journalist seems to have handed over the placard to Dorsey.

Well, if unbiased is his personal motto, why would he even bother holding such a placard? Twitter did come out claiming that it was a gift given by the woman journalist. Well, he can understand that it is a sensitive statement. Then why did he even bother holding it? He could have at least hid the placard from getting exposed in a group photograph.

Most importantly, we respect his ideology. But if the person attempts to thrust the same on others intellectually by criticizing their religion and beliefs with misinformation it has to be condemned.

These incidents Reflect upon Twitter’s Liberal allegiance More

CAA NRC Protest:

Post the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens, a large violence ensued in different part of India. Even though the opposition lost terribly in the Lok Sabha elections, they banked upon these two bills.

A large pro-radical narrative was set which affected living conditions for common folks in Delhi ranging from traffic jams as the protestors blocked. And several fake accounts were created which was used to politicize the issue.

Rajdeep Sardesai and the Republic Day Tractor Parade as part of Farmers Protest

Like the Anti-CAA and NRC protest in New Delhi, a farmer protest too erupted in early 2021. But this time at the borders. Part time Activist like Yogendra Yadav openly threatened the government, as protestors were trying to run tractor over the police force who were blocking them to move further.

The height of intolerance came up when farmers tried to protest with a tractor rally and Delhi Police stopped them with barricades. A farmer drove his tractor fiercely, falling and causing an accident to himself and eventually died. In a couple of minutes, Rajdeep Sardesai was quick enough to say that a farmer died because Police had shot him down, which is misinformation.

Therefore, the Senior Journalist had to remove the tweet himself. Anyhow, Delhi Police and the real Indian Judiciary filed a case against him for spreading misinformation. At least, the judiciary and security forces have reinstated faith on truth.

Yet, the inflammatory speeches made by radical groups still exists in Twitter. The fake accounts through which hate speech was spread still exists. Moreover, whomsoever raised their voice against the protests have been suspended.

Some examples of Permanent Ban that represents Opinion Suppression by Twitter

True Indology

True Indology is a Twitter account which indulged in an argument with D Roopa IPS over the ban on fire crackers in November 2020. While the IPS officer in her tweet claimed True Indology as crying victim on some imaginary bullying and went on to say, “Your time’s up.”

According to True Indology’s Instagram handle, the famous account was deleted in less than five minutes of the above comments made by lady police officer.

Gayathri Raghuram

Gayathri Raghuram is an actor cum choreographer in the Tamil film industry. She enjoyed all the pomp and glory only until she joined BJP. Her presence in Big Boss Tamil invited significant criticism. However, any woman who is part of Tamil Nadu BJP is subject to adult jokes quite easily.

In October 2020, leader of Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi (VCK) Thirumavazhavan tweeted that Hindu scriptures and manusmriti especially denigrated women. Gayathri Raghuram was quick enough to respond only to get her account suspended permanently on the grounds of abusive behaviour.

In that case, why Thirumavazhavan’s account is still active? Did he not talk about Hindu scriptures that too which is derogatory and affecting the sentiments of Hindus? Did Twitter take Hindus for granted?

Also, in the recent times people have been using derogatory words against Gayathri Raghuram and this below tweet is an example of that. Twitter, according to its policy should have suspended this account, but it still exists.

Kangana Ranaut

When she posted a video of hers crying for the victims who died in the post poll Bengal violence, Twitter was quick enough to suspend her account permanently. Anyhow, she is now active in Facebook, Instagram and other platforms.

What is the Way Out to stop this Opinion Suppression & Digital Judiciary System?

Donald Trump, the former President of USA was subject to these suppressions. That means common citizens who would want to voice their opinion against radical elements or the pro-radical factions would be subject to far more bullying.

Congress leaders are continuously making derogatory remarks on several facts and Rahul Gandhi has been spreading misinformation too. If the platform is for all, why did it not suspend Rahul Gandhi’s account?

Moreover, Arundhati Roy has time and again been claiming that India should give Kashmir to Pakistan. Well, this is an anti-national sentiment which needs to be addressed. Yet, her account is still active. Kunal Kamra is one person who has been abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and yet his account remains active.

Added to that, Islamic fundamentalists seem to have an active as well as a verified account. Does Twitter consider them as a peace seekers or keepers?

While the factions who may not understand the issue real-time will be subject to consuming misinformation.

At a time, when the world is fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, platforms like these are making way for pro-radicals to set an anti-national narrative and collapse the peaceful democratic nations. Hence, a policy to regulate aggregation of information should be in place.

Moreover, when Government of India is warning the platform for its misdoing, it is still continuing to showcase arrogance. This does look like how the East India Company took over India some centuries ago.

This is the time when the government must show its power by banning Twitter if necessary. If not, such companies will indulge in such acts and start threatening the democratic system.

Therefore, a stricter law that holds such platforms responsible for aggregation of misinformation and making derogatory remarks on anyone despite their political ideologies should be conceptualized and executed with an iron fist.
